Circos: What the heck is me-centric search™?
Circos is the latest web 2.0 search engine. They call themselves me-centric, meaning the site makes it quick and easy to find the answers you’re looking for. Search is pretty basic and based upon you asking it for a Restaurant or Hotel (right now) and then choosing a location, adjective and something else from their tags. They then grade the results that get sent back to you in a simple to understand list. The grades are based upon what people are saying online about the Restaurant or Hotel. Currently Circos will help you find hotels and restaurants but they’re indexing more of the web to add on new lifestyle categories very soon.
Right now while in public preview they are looking for feedback as well as bug reporting, so try it out if it is available in a city you may be visiting and let them know. Circos was founded in 2006 and is privately funded by a team of successful entrepreneurs and investment bankers. They’re located in San Mateo, CA and have a development center in Singapore.
