Meet Tech Star - Warren Nash, Owner/Developer, WozzaWorks

Who are you and what do you do?

Warren Nash, web developer.

What services/products do you offer?

Website development including dynamic data driven pages for any need.
I also have an online management tool at www.myquestions.net that is for anyone asking their clients the same questions regularly and want to be able to customize the questions and track the individual client’s answers.

Who/where is your audience?

Local Cape Cod, Massachusetts, USA and international.

What is the website?

www.wozzaworks.com and www.myquestions.net

Well-Funded or Bootstrapped?

Bootstrapped

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?  10 years?

I see my management tool, MyQuestions.net, being my primary source of income and dedicating most of my time to upgrading and adding features to it. I envision this enabling me to do a lot more traveling and fun activities.

Where were you born - where do you live now?

Born in Bulawayo, Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) and now live in Chatham, Massachusetts

PC or Mac?

PC, although sometimes I wish that I had started on a Mac.

Where did you go to school?

Junior school in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, High School and a bit of college, and a machinists apprenticeship in Cape Town, South Africa. I also spent time at Cape Cod Community College when I first got to the States, although I still need one class to graduate.

What Social Networks are you on?

Linkedin and that is about it, I don’t have much time for the others and can’t believe some of the information that some put out there.

Greatest invention ever?

I would have to say electricity. Imagine where would all of us geek types be without it, redesigning a more efficient wheel?

Person you believe has contributed most to the world of technology?
Jack Kilby – the inventor of the integrated circuit, or computer chip. I can think of a bunch of other people but where would we be without a chip.

Where have you traveled in your life?

Southern Africa, travelled to most of the countries while living there. The United Kingdom, lived and worked there and sailed from France to the Caribbean. I lived in St Maarten twice, first time for over a year and a half and the second time for a little under a year on my way to the States. On route to the States I sailed to Brazil and then spent six months backpacking around South America. On arriving in the States, I spent a few months driving from Miami to California to the Arctic Circle in Alaska and back to New York City and finally to Cape Cod.

Why set up shop on Cape Cod?

I fell in love and then had to figure out how to stay here twelve years ago.

5 Websites you go to every day?

Allafrica.com, BBC.com, Drudgereport.com, wsj.com, miniclip.com/suduko
I find the news is particularly one sided and not much of the international news is shown here, I hate watching the evening news so tend to get most of the news from the internet, I need to do at least 2 sudukos a day.

What’s on your iPod right now?

Dick Francis, Under Orders, I like listening to audio books; it gives me a chance to catch up on my fictional reading.

What is on your desktop/screensaver right now?

A sunset picture of a lake where we spend a few days every year up in New Hampshire/ a picture slide show of some great nature images

You are on a deserted island - do you bring a laptop or book?

Book, where do I plug the laptop in?

Phone call or text message?

Phone

Feel free to tell us anything else….?

I love being outdoors with my family so we try and take advantage of the beautiful area that we live in. Love taking our 50+ year old wooden novi skiff to the beach. Also enjoy taking our kayaks out in Pleasant Bay and a few of the other great paddling areas around here. I enjoy the hot tub and star gazing, especially fun checking when the shuttle or ISS is going over. It always amazes me watching it going over knowing that there are people inside way up there. I enjoy getting back home but it a really long trek and I am looking forward to spending more time travelling. I enjoy spending time with my eight year old inquisitive son, there is never a dull moment and I have to think on my feet – good thing for the web, and my wife.

Thank you for your time, Warren!

Thanks for the opportunity!

Hey Warren. Didn’t know you were from South Africa. My wife was there once, and wanted to move there.
