Viewzi: A New Way to View Search
The world doesn’t need another search engine. I think we can all agree about that; at least for this moment in time. Or until semantic search comes into play. So what type of search would be helpful for the data you get from Google and other search engine sites? How about a new way to look at search and its results? I know there have been other meta search sites in the past, but I came across a cool new search site that is clean and beautiful.
Viewzi is a very cool search engine which uses Google, Yahoo, MSN and other technologies and mashes it together using the preference of the people around the world to create amazing visual results. The way it works is first you type in a search term. Then you choose a type of view for the results. There are a bunch of great beautiful views like: screenshot view, celebrity photo view, news view, video view, and more. Right now in beta, it works great and the app is pretty awesome. The views right now are created by a handful of view builders but there will soon be an API open to all to create interesting views.
There will also be an embedable Viewzi for your site in the next few months. Now you can make your own custom view for your own site search engine. It is definitely a new way to look at search, and is interesting and fun. I do warn you if you take a look at it and start using it you may waste hours as it is addicting when checking out all the views and types of results on a particular search term!
Post a comment about what you think of Viewzi.

Well I don’t think it is intended to take the place of google, where you are looking for some general information. I think it is to provide new way to look at results say for example if you had a group of similar industry people like a specialized doctor that wanted to create a view which search specific specialized sites for information and images then mashed together. Or if you are into celebrities and being able to do a search which brings up video, photos, audio and information all in one view. Things like this.
It is in Flash and is in beta so I think that would be the issue with the speed. I didn’t notice any slow down except if you do a search which has to query multiple sources. We’ll see where it goes.

Slow….slow….slowwwww
Views are interesting, but irrelevant for someone just looking for info, like a news story.
I certainly hope there’s a problem somewhere looking for this solution, it really is pretty neat technically.
