Feedalizr: FriendFeed on your desktop
Are you on Twitter? Do you have a Flickr account? What about a Linkedin account? Well if you are a social networking site junky like me you have way to many accounts and have many different friends on all these websites. How do you keep track of all the updates in your social network? Well many people have joined FriendFeed.com which has been dubbed a life stream aggregator. It basically allows you to add all your different accounts into one site and then sit back and watch what all your friends on all these different networks are doing.
The only draw back of FriendFeed may be that you have to visit the website in your browser or keep it running in one of your tabs. It get a little annoying to keep up to the minute tabs on the latest updates of photos, twitter posts and blog updates form all your friends. What’s a social networking junky to do?
What you may want is to check out Feedalizr. Feedalizr is a desktop application that runs on Windows or Mac using Adobe Air. It hooks into your FriendFeed account and allow you to get those up to the minute updates without being on the website. The application just runs in the background and provides a nice quick interface to your life stream aggregator. Right now it is in a version 1.0.3 alpha state. It even allows you right now to twitter right from the interface or add a link to your FriendFeed. In upcoming versions they will add support for adding other services. It is a great idea and the start of a good way to consolidate all your accounts. Try it out and let me know what you think!
