The 4 Corners of Web Marketing: Email Marketing (Part II)
Last week I talked about Email Marketing and the 4 Corners of Web Marketing. This is part 2 of the series on email marketing and focuses on crafting your first e-newsletter.
I’m going to use the Home Builder example I had from the previous post.
Home Builder - As a a home builder, my list would probably consist of people thinking about building or past clients. A newsletter on a monthly basis is perfect for this. Feature the new house you built on Stage Harbor in Chatham, talk about new building materials…maybe green materials, or put in a testimonial from a previous client.
I set up Jimmy’s Homebuilder on Saltmail with a template where Jimmy can add the content and photos of his new house. Below I am going to go through the screens and show you how easy this is.

Here is where you add the title of your campaign and the title of your email. Very easy, just type right in the box.

Here you are adding a title and a story to your new html email. As you can see below the title, you can add lists, color fonts, bold and italicize your text and add images without knowing any html.

The content is added.

Here you see the content as you can preview your email as you build it.

Here is the final email campaign….so easy to do.
After you have built your email newsletter, all you have to do is select the proper list of recipients and the blast will go out. The list will take care of itself when it comes to mis-spelled email addresses or people who want to unsubscribe.
There are all sorts of reports you can run on the campaign that I will talk about in a future post.
Next week I will be starting the discussion on using Social Networks for your business. As always - If you ever have any questions on the article, feel free to contact me or post comments below.
