Meet Tech Star - Trish Kennedy, BackOffice Associates
Editor: If you were one of the lucky ones that attended the CCTC’s First Friday in which Trish spoke, you know how talented and brilliant this woman is. If you missed it, that’s okay. Trish was kind enough to be a part of our weekly Tech Star feature, and we are honored to have her share her answers with us.
Who are you and what do you do?
Patricia Kennedy, CEO BackOffice Associates
I run a 300+ person Global Software and Consulting Business
What services/products do you offer?
SAP Data Quality services and applications specifically designed to deliver Business Ready Data™ for SAP Customers.
Who/where is your audience?
SAP Customers Worldwide
What is the website?
Well-Funded or Bootstrapped?
Well funded by Tom Kennedy and Trish Kennedy the founders of the company.
We sold our first software company we founded in Richmond, VA so we had money.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years?
5 years CEO of a publically traded company
10 years member of the Board of Directors but out of the day to day operation of the company.
Where were you born - where do you live now?
Born: Virginia
Live now: Orleans MA

Where did you go to school?
VCU
What Social Networks are you on?
None, I have my own
Greatest invention ever?
My husband is the inventor. I build and execute on business processes that enable his inventions to realize their potential.
Person you believe has contributed most to the world of technology?
Konrad Zuse, first programmable computer with a programming language.
Of course there are many inventions since that brought us into the modern computing world but Zuse developed the first real computer giving us all lots of ideas on how to change the world using this technology.
Where have you traveled in your life?
Europe, parts of Asia, North America and Australia.
I have yet to visit Africa and South America.
Why set up shop on Cape Cod?
Quality of Life, great place to raise our 4 sons.
5 Websites you go to every day?
Google, Weather.com, our website, PGAtour.com (watching the two professional golfers we sponsor, J Byrd and Boo Weekly) and yes YouTube ( I love it!)
What’s on your iPod right now?
I have an iPhone and have very little time to listen to music but when I do I listen to bluegrass and rock
What is on your desktop/screensaver right now?
Picture of my sons at the Indianapolis/ Patriots game in Indy this year.
You are on a deserted island - do you bring a laptop or book?
A laptop with a hand crank battery of course!

Creating and building a company is the hardest thing you will ever do but it is the foundation of our country’s economy. Try it. Even if it doesn’t work you will learn more than you ever could working for others.
