Geisha Love Bite Martini
This is going out to Ms. Tanya, our own little Computer Techtress and Martini-drinking Geisha, who found this delectable botanical specimen somewhere in her web surfing. And oh my, this looks divine. Yes, it is true, I have not had this yet, but I am in the process of making this drink and blogging at the same time. Is that legal? Is the FCC going to step in at anytime and crash my front door down with a battering ram and M16s for drinking and blogging? That’d be SO cool…
So, yes, whilst writing, I am indeed conducting research. With my Assistant of Martinism, Ms. Joan.
How to make a Geisha Love Bite Martini
Ingredients:
1/2 Ginger Flower Petal
30ml Hakutsuru Sake
20ml Skyy Vodka
10ml Monin Pomegranate Syrup
Large Ice Cube
Ginger Flower Petals (Garnish)
Pineapple Leaves (Garnish)
and for the decimally-challenged, remembering that 1 fl oz = 30 mL:
1 oz Hakutsuru Sake
1 oz Skyy Vodka
Between 1.4 oz. to 1/2 oz. Monin Pomegranate Syrup
Large Ice Cube
Ginger Flower Petals (Garnish)
Pineapple Leaves (Garnish)
Directions:
Chill a martini glass.
Muddle half of a ginger flower petal in a mixing glass.
Add rest of ingredients into mixing glass (except garnishes) and shake for 10 seconds.
Double strain content from the shaker into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish with ginger flower petals and pineapple leaves.
Considering I could not find ginger flower petals locally - you need to realize I do live on Cape Cod, remember, but I still made the drinks without it. However, the hint of ginger makes this drink over the top, so I would say add some ginger liquor or even grate a bit of ginger in it even if you cannot find the ginger flower petals.
On Cape Cod, we are not what you would call the “Gateway to the Orient”. In fact, some uppity white Holier than Thous would probably eco-terrorize my office because I said the politically incorrect word, Orient. But, I have a huge surprise - I have “The Secret IN”. I live with an Asian, which means, I get a free pass. Keep in mind, where the ethnic ratio in my house is 50/50, (I am a very WASP-ish translucent white woman, with blue eyes, and Chris is Japanese) the ethnic ratio throughout Cape Cod I believe is 99.5 - .5%. I don’t need demagogue Peter Francese for THOSE demographics…Inside joke…
Doesn’t anyone else know that? If you are white, and you date another ethnicity (except white, Caucasian, Homey or WASP) you can too, get the “Free Pass” from being besieged as a “racist” by mindless white politically correct hippy types claiming they do it all “for the minorities” if you just happen to say a word not approved on their constantly updated “Notebook on Inequality and Racist Comments by The Man who wants to Keep the Minorities Down”. No they don’t - they do it for themselves to make themselves feel better. Same reason Botox-enriched platinum blonde rich-ass debutantes from Newton drive their Lexus SUVs all the way to Somerville to protest a Walmart being built. It is to make themselves feel better - not for “solidarity” with the people. Come on.
(I know my stuff - I watched Penn and Teller Bullshit - the episode on Walmart - I highly recommend it.)
It’s true - and if you are not aware of the following site, than you do not know White People like I know White People…
Go Here: Stuff White People Like
I mean come on, read all the things white people like:
- #85 The Wire
- #84 T-Shirts
- #83 Bad Memories of High School
- #82 Hating Corporations
- #81 Graduate School
- #80 The Idea of Soccer
- #79 Modern Furniture
- #78 Multilingual Children
- #77 Musical Comedy
- #76 Bottles of Water
- #75 Threatening to Move to Canada
- #74 Oscar Parties
- #73 Gentrification
- #72 Study Abroad
- #71 Being the only white
Aha, now that you read it, you must agree. I rest my case.
But, I digress….
I must say, I love Japan. I love the Geisha - especially a Gaijin like me. I am in love with Japan, the customs, the festivities, the work ethic, the food and its people. Although I have never been, I respect the country for so much and love to surround myself with cute little tokens of Japan; like Chris.
So, here is the Geisha Love Bite and I would like to extend a toast to New York Governor Eliot “Client -9″ Spitzer, but it appears, too many “Geisha Love Bites” is what got him in trouble in the first place…
If you have a martini you would like us to feature, email us at Feedback@atbar.com, or comment below! See you next week!
