The Baked Apple Pie Martini - Just like Mom used to make…
Okay, so I am not sure if this is what most Moms make for their kids when cooking up an apple delicacy, I would have to say I did not start drinking martinis until I was OUT of the house, so I do not want to infer my Mom made me Baked Apple Pie Martinis with my fluffernutters…
BUT, it does taste like a baked apple pie - in like, liquid form. With alcohol. Lots of alcohol.

I was recently having dinner with some other geeks at the RooBar in Hyannis-Cape Cod, and found on the martini menu something to behold - the Baked Apple Pie Martini. Gotta get me some of that!
So Tanya and I order one. And two - and I believe a third - and some sent over a 4th - I strongly believe that R&D (Research and Development) should be best out of 3 to get the most solid results. I tried to get a picture of one with my iPhone, but if you have ever been to the RooBar, it’s as dark as John McCain’s penthouse suite at the Hanoi Hilton - I think he had more light…not that I’m complaining - you just can’t see bubkus. So I tried to find a picture that looked the closest to it, unfortunately, I may be forced to do a Kappy’s run in a few for the ingredients. Even if it is only 3pm. You know, in England, everyone drinks at this hour and no one cares. You start drinking at 3pm on Cape Cod and people think you are homeless.
But, I digress. This martini was so good, because every step of the drink was an experience. And it helps that the sweet blonde bartendress knows how to make killer martinis…Thank you, Mrs. Bartender…
The recipe I got from her at the RooBar for this yummy beverage is as follows:
Baked Apple Pie Martini
Equal Parts:
Apple Pucker
Vanilla Vodka
Goldschlager - 1 count
ButterShots - 1 count
Shake with ice
Rim the glass with a Cinnamon and a little sugar mix.
Pour and enjoy!
This WAS divine…plus I was so excited since I now am able to find a recipe in which to use my Apple Pucker. Yeah, I was big into apple martinis not that long ago…I always felt a little remorse and a little embarrassed, seeing that large bottle sit up there alone and thinking how those apple martinis are like so, last year. Kind of like how I feel when I watch the movie “The Wedding Singer” with Adam Sandler and cannot believe how much I used to jump around and love to sing to Boy George and Michael Jackson when I was a kid…it’s a little embarrassing, yes it is, but at the time, it felt oh so good…you know you did it, too…
When I was trying to explain to someone what Goldschlager was, I admit, I had to go online to make sure I was in tandem with what I was saying. Mind you, martinis are only a passion, I am not a professional. I don’t know if there really is a martini professional, but I was just hoping to clarify my place on the food chain for you, dear reader.

Goldschläger is a Swiss cinnamon schnapps, yet made in Italy that contains gold flakes as a great marketing novelty. The German word Goldschläger means “gold leaf maker.” It makes many yummy drinks, or done solo, like in a shot…or from a paper bag…
I have never personally had this particular drink, but I have been told that Goldschlager, Jagermeister, 151 rum and peppermint schnapps makes a lovely cocktail called “liquid cocaine”. I don’t know this for sure, but it seems like something the Hasselhoff was imbibing when he decided to eat a few In and Out burgers off the berber carpet…
My favorite Goldschlager moments? When Dwight Schrute in “The Office” asked the waitress for “Goldschlager, extra flakes…”

I second Bert’s comment “mmm, good”. So, do we have a date for me to do a taste test when I get back? Apple Pie is my dessert of choice so why not enjoy a new and improved version of America’s favorite dessert!
Marji
Another variation seen but not tried - an apple margarita made with apple sauce, tequila, the other assorted extras, and a wedge of cheddar cheese as the garnish. It looked delicious!

I make Liquid Cocaine with Goldschlager, Jager and Peachtree Schnapps…yum yum
Oh those were sooo good, but very dangerous if you have things to do the next day ;-)
Liquid cocaine?!?

Mmmm, good day to start drinking at 3pm. I was ready much earlier. Sounds tasty!
Oh, and that comment about not being a professional? 4 martinis at the Roobar???
I was also disturbed about the “listening to Boy George/ Michael Jackson while growing up”. I am now feeling really old. Martinis for breakfast anyone? How about a banana pancake martini?
