The Cantaloupe Martini

Thank you from Janel Kesten, graphic designer extraordinaire, for this one - a mighty tasty one indeed. (You can find her beautifying the Cape’s marketing collateral with simple yet contemporary designs at New England Reprographics in West Yarmouth, MA, when she isn’t out and about drinking martinis…)
Janel says, “This martini is great because it’s easy to make (measuring is optional) and smooth to drink. Bonus: it reminds me of summer all year round.”
Janel’s recipe is as follows:
1 oz. Skyy Melon Vodka
2 oz. Marie Brizard watermelon liquor
2 oz. Orange Juice
Squeeze a lime
Put some ice in a shaker and add ingredients. Shake and pour into martini glass. Squeeze a lime, and use one for a garnish.
Some helpful hints when making this martini and others:
If you break the glass, by accident, or if in Russia, on purpose:
Use a dry cotton ball to pick up little broken glass pieces.
The fibers catch ones you can’t see!

The Edible Martini
If you are a Techie and a Foodie, then you need to watch this video. Chef/mad scientist Dave Arnold of the French Culinary Institute has figured out how to vacuum infuse a martini inside a cucumber.
Martini Ware of the Week
I think I have finally found the Martini glass for me!
Mind you - these are APPLES, not olives…..
You can find them here for purchase.
Don’t forget, Dear Readers, if you have any great Martini recipes, stories, links of interest or video to share, comment on this below!

Dave-
If I wasn’t on my 3rd one - for simply R&D purposes, of course folks - I would drive there and make you one right now.

if there wasn’t all the snow on the ground (and if I had decided to shower and dress today) I’d be @ Cotuit Liquors right now buying a bottle of Marie Brizard watermelon liquor so that I could try this tonight.
if anyone is in the Cotuit area and would like to purchase and then drop off the necessary items for this martini, please send me an email and I’ll give you directions.
